Kathy Crandall placed her first alterations ad in 1975. Since then she has sewn out of her home, and in various boutiques throughout Hickory, North Carolina over the many years.
Kathy opened the The Tailored Touch Alterations Shop in Hickory in 2000. During the 17 years the shop was open, she has altered and tailored the suits, dresses, formal wear, and prom dresses of hundreds of clients – and many of her client’s children as well!
Kathy decided to close the The Tailored Touch in 2017, moving her tailoring & alterations business into her home. She continues to accepts clients on an appointment basis, contact her today for an estimation and to schedule a fitting!

Kathy’s specialty is wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, evening gowns, and prom dresses. Most wedding dresses must be altered to fit as well as require a hem adjustment. Kathy is a detailed seamstress and can rearrage appliques, lace, or zippers; and modify your dress so that it fits you perfectly for your big day!
